A used car saves the same way
There is a myth that novated leasing is only for new cars. It is not. A used car is salary packaged the same way: part of the payment comes from pre-tax salary, you save the GST, and the running costs are bundled in. You just start from a lower purchase price.
What to check on a used car
- Age at lease end. The financier sets a maximum age by the end of the term. We check it for your car up front.
- Condition and history. A roadworthy car with a clean history is straightforward to finance.
- Used EVs. A second hand electric car first used on or after 1 July 2022 can still be FBT exempt.

Whatever the car, our fee is the same flat $1,500, the effective rate is shown plainly, and any add-ons are cost plus a flat 10 percent. Put your used car and its price into the calculator and see your real number.
Common questions
Can I novate a used car?
Yes. A used car can be salary packaged on a novated lease and you save through pre-tax salary and GST the same way as a new car. The car usually needs to be within an age limit by the end of the lease, which the financier sets.
How old can the car be?
Most financiers want the car under a set age at the end of the term, often around twelve to fifteen years old by lease end. It varies by lender. We check it for your exact car before you commit, so there is no nasty surprise.
Is a used EV still FBT exempt?
It can be. A used electric car is FBT exempt if it was first held and used on or after 1 July 2022 and was under the luxury car tax threshold when new. So a near new second hand EV often still qualifies.
Where does the used car come from?
A dealer, or a private sale. You choose the car, and we build the lease around its real price. You are not limited to a provider approved list.
