Is the MG4 FBT exempt?

Yes, in the normal case. The MG4 is battery-electric, so as long as its drive-away price is at or under $91,661 (the 2026-27 fuel-efficient luxury car tax threshold) it is FBT exempt on a novated lease. That is what makes an EV the strongest novated lease going: the whole package comes out of pre-tax salary with no FBT to pay.

An honest note: FBT exempt means no fringe benefits tax is payable, but the benefit is still reported on your income statement. That reported amount can affect income-tested things like HECS or HELP repayments, the Medicare levy surcharge, and family payments. Our calculator and team will always show you the full picture.
